So in IT we have to do a study on gaming and then make a game of our choice at the end of term. I've started an RPG called Fantasia.
So far I have thought about a lot of things to include but let me get the basics down for now...


  • Fantasia

I have thought about classes. My classes "branch" off into sub-classes. Kind of like FF: Tactics Advanced? If any have played it.?
The classes along with sub's are stated below...


Warrior NEUTRAL>OP / UP

  • Beserker
  • Soldier
  • Fighter
  • Knight

Mage OP>UP

  • Elementalist
  • Black Mage
  • White Mage
  • Summonist
  • Transformist / Shapeshifter

Thief UP>OP

  • Ninja
  • Pirate
  • Hunter

and...
(Final class and Sub-classes picked by you.)
((Please submit class with 3-4 sub-classes that fit.))

Haven't really thought of one so far, but thinking of...
When you decide to go to your friends birthday you don't expect to play a game of cards and accidentally change dimensions...
As you land in front of a hideous beast you find out that this is no game(Ironic right Razz)...
Armed with just your pocket knife you have from the "previous" world you decide to take on this beast...
But the beast has other thoughts...
You awake in a dimly lit room as you see crowded faces hovering overhead, one of the faces whispers about you being the prophesied hero...

You must help these people as you try to make your way home to the real world, after you find your friends again.

*UPDATE*

As you can see Thief class is underpowered but over time as you level becomes the best class to have chosen.
Mage is the OP class but in time stats actually decrease!
Warrior is neutral class. Can either train to be OP or UP.
??? don't know yet as no-one has posted a new / old class.

Will post title when I make it.

I've been given some classes for ???. If you want one post it.
People have posted Ranger, Special classes and the sub's
BTW whats norm sprite sizes? 16x16? 32x32?

I'm just making some rly shitty simple one...you shouldn't go over the top with this one too much if you're not planning in making it a personal project...cuz...you know, you might end up spending too much time with it, and fuckin' up I.T. or something

Yea im jst gonna try do the opening movie, class selection, a map and some monsters Razz This is my personal project now and I think we are just doin' random stuff after this with visual basic?

You are planning to do all those stuff with VB!?

Anyways, job system already fails. I suggest you change it.
Or else, every one would pick thief for easy pwnage.

Make it more like this, Warrior - easy to use, no special powers but have high HP, ATK and DEF, Thief - low HP, ATK and DEF, but high SPD and EVA, Mage - low HP, ATK and DEF, and is slow, but have high MP, M.ATK and M.DEF.

That would balance out things. Like, Warrior vs Thief, Warrior must be clam and aim for exact timing to hit the thief, while the thief must run around, attack when the warrior shows an opening.

Oakz, I don't do the exact size of sprites and leave a bit of extra, just in case they used moves or items that are bigger than their usual size. So if you had a sprite that was 16x16, I'd leave extra and keep the entire thing 32x32 (so that's the sprite including the space around it)
